The column costs B/. 200.00 because it is not just standing it up: it includes the foundation with a concrete base and J-bolts, the brackets, the paint and — this is the important part — the earthing. An unearthed metal column is a serious electrical hazard, particularly in a country with Panama's storm activity.
The photocell on the IP66 fitting switches it on and off according to ambient light. It pays for itself in consumption and stops the car park lights burning all day.
