Tree Felling in San Miguelito

San Miguelito has hillside homes, narrow streets and trees growing on the slopes. There, felling is done in sections with ropes, because there is usually no room for a crane. We handle the MiAmbiente permit and, if there are power lines, coordinate with ENSA. The base price is $200 to $800 per tree, transport not included.

Trees on slopes: when to fell and when not to

On a slope, a tree's roots help hold the soil in place. If the tree is felled and the stump pulled out, that slope can become more prone to sliding in heavy rain. That is why in San Miguelito we assess whether pruning weight off the crown makes more sense than full removal. If the tree has to be felled, it is sometimes better to leave the root in place.

When the tree does have to go, we take it down in tied-off pieces, because on a slope a falling trunk rolls. San Miguelito is a separate district from Panama: on top of the MiAmbiente permit, we check with its mayor's office whether it requires its own permit for the case.

Verifiable facts

“A poorly cut tree can cost more than the service itself. That is why we do controlled felling, with the permit in order and protecting the property. We publish this because that is how we work.”

Frequently asked questions

Is it dangerous to fell a tree on a slope in San Miguelito?

Yes, more than on flat ground: the trunk can roll and, without roots, the slope may become prone to sliding. That is why we lower it in tied-off sections and assess whether to leave the root.

Is pruning better than felling if the tree is on a slope?

Often, yes. Pruning weight off the crown lowers the risk of the tree falling and keeps the roots holding the soil. If the tree is diseased or already tipping over, it gets felled.

Can you work if my street is very narrow?

Yes. We use portable equipment and haul debris out in loads. Debris removal is quoted by volume and access.

What permit do I need in San Miguelito?

The MiAmbiente permit, which is free if the tree is a hazard, diseased or damaging a structure. Since San Miguelito is a district with its own mayor's office, we check whether it also requires a municipal permit.

How much does it cost to fell a tree in San Miguelito?

The base price is $200 per tree with a building nearby and $800 for a large tree taken down in sections, transport not included. The exact quote is free after seeing the tree and the terrain.
