Tree Felling and Pruning in Costa del Este

In Costa del Este, most trees are in condominium (PH) common areas, in house gardens or on the public strip. We coordinate three things: the building management's approval, the municipal permit and MiAmbiente's permit. We work within the building's hours and protect cars and finishes. The base price is $200 to $800 per tree, transport not included.

How a tree is felled in a Costa del Este condominium

In a condominium, a tree in a common area does not belong to a single owner: the decision goes through the building management or the board, according to the PH bylaws. We provide the technical assessment, photos and a written quote so management can approve it without back-and-forth.

Costa del Este is inside the District of Panama, so on top of MiAmbiente, the municipal permit for pruning or felling on urban land applies (Agreement No. 91 of the Municipality of Panama). Often what is needed is crown pruning or dealing with roots lifting the sidewalk, not felling. If pruning solves the problem, we recommend it before felling.

Verifiable facts

“A poorly cut tree can cost more than the service itself. That is why we do controlled felling, with the permit in order and protecting the property. We publish this because that is how we work.”

Frequently asked questions

Who authorizes felling a tree in a condominium common area in Costa del Este?

Inside the PH, the building management or board decides, according to the bylaws. Outside, you need the MiAmbiente permit and the municipal one. We provide the assessment and photos to make approval easier.

Is a municipal permit required in Costa del Este?

Yes. Costa del Este is in the District of Panama, and the municipality requires its own permit for pruning, felling or transplanting on urban land (Agreement No. 91), in addition to MiAmbiente's.

Can you prune instead of felling?

Yes, and it is often the better option. Crown pruning, thinning or removing limbs over the parking area reduces the risk without removing the tree, and the paperwork is usually simpler.

How do you protect cars and finishes during the work?

We cordon off the area, ask management to clear nearby parking spots, and lower limbs on ropes instead of letting them drop.

How much does it cost to fell a tree in Costa del Este?

The base price is $200 per tree with a building nearby and $800 for a large tree taken down in sections, transport not included. The exact quote is free after the visit.
