Controlled Tree Felling in Colon
In Colon we fell trees that have already become a hazard, and we take them down in pieces so the house, the wall and the power lines stay undamaged. We handle the permit with MiAmbiente's Colon regional office. The base price is $200 per tree with a building nearby and $800 if it is large and has to be cut in sections. Transport is extra.

Why trees fall more often in Colon
On the Caribbean coast it rains almost all year. In waterlogged soil, roots lose their grip, and a tall tree with a rain-soaked canopy can topple whole instead of just dropping limbs. That is why in Colon we check the base first: lifted roots, cracked soil, or a trunk that has started leaning in recent weeks.
Salty air also weakens dead limbs and rusts the fittings on roofs and fences, so an impact does more damage. If the tree touches power lines, we coordinate with ENSA, Colon's power distributor, before cutting.
- Tree with lifted roots or a leaning trunk: it is filed as a hazard and the permit is free.
- Mangroves and coastal wetlands have special protection (Law 41 of 1998): a regular permit is not enough there.
- We remove limbs, trunk and stump; hauling the debris is quoted by volume.
Verifiable facts
“A poorly cut tree can cost more than the service itself. That is why we do controlled felling, with the permit in order and protecting the property. We publish this because that is how we work.”

Frequently asked questions
How can I tell if a tree in Colon is about to fall?
Look for lifted roots, cracked soil around the base, a trunk that started leaning recently, or fungus at the base. With the ground wet most of the year, any of these signs should be handled soon. Send us photos on WhatsApp.
Does the felling permit in Colon cost anything?
If the tree is a hazard, diseased or damaging a structure, the MiAmbiente permit is free. If it is felled to build, the inspection costs B/. 50. We prepare the file.
Can you fell trees near a mangrove in Colon?
Mangroves have special protection, and a regular felling permit is not enough there. Before quoting, we check whether the property is in a protected or coastal zone.
Do you coordinate with ENSA if the tree touches power lines?
Yes. ENSA is the distributor in Colon. If the tree or its limbs touch the lines, we coordinate with them before cutting, because working near a live cable is very dangerous.
How much does it cost to fell a tree in Colon?
The base price is $200 per tree with a building nearby and $800 for a large tree taken down in sections. Transport is not included. The exact quote is free after seeing the tree.
